House Sampler

One of my recent knitting projects was a little house sampler.  I found the pattern in Claire Compton's book The Knitters' Bible, which is a great resource for creative knitting.

My sister moved to a new home this year and I thought that it would be a sweet housewarming gift.  I enjoyed making it so much that I've finished a second one and have a third in progress.

  1. Wow, Marie! That is such a lovely and thoughtful gift. I always enjoy seeing what other fellow knitters/crocheters are up to! I am still doing the ripple blanket, though not as often as I should if I actually wanted to get the darn thing finished in time to actually be useable this winter(!), and the calming waves snood/cowl, which I must post about!

I think you and Willow are both right suggesting that the tree was a field maple. It is very pretty and was the only tree apart from the odd oak to have turned colour. We're very lacking in it over here - so much for the 'blaze of glory' that would rival the autumn of 2008 that we were promised! C'est la vie!

    Best wishes,
