Winter Storm

The winter storm started on Wednesday night and continued throughout Thursday.  The snow amounted to about 25 centimetres and the winds reached 100 km/hour, bringing down power lines and resulting in the entire island being without power.

Our power went off shortly after 6 a.m. and we were without power for fourteen plus hours.  The house got very cold and we were not adequately prepared for such an emergency, but at least we had storm chips!

  1. It's always good to be prepared for an emergency! Snacks are good to have during a crisis. ;) That's a LONG time to be without power... Hope you're keeping warm--and well snacked now! Been catching up on your November posts, Marie. It's a big thing to post daily. I'm sorry not to have had a chance to read them all and comment along the way, but enjoying them now! :) Wishing you a lovely December now! ((HUGS))

    1. It was a very long time without power, so we were extremely relieved when it came back on. We were luckier than some, who were without power for more than three days. Marie x

  2. That is such a long time to be without power, glad you eventually returned to normal something like that is hard to prepare for. We are all electric as even the gas central heating is governed by the electric timers etc. It is a worry if it all goes out:)
