Yesterday was the hundredth anniversary of the end of the Battle of Passchendaele, in which 16,000 Canadian troops were killed or wounded.
We carry the torch and honour their sacrifice.
Horrific to think of all those lives lost. Beautiful photograph. Bx
ReplyDeleteI heard on the television that more than a quarter of a million lives were lost in three nights of fighting. It is just unimaginable.
