I haven't ever found maltloaf here either, but I do have quite a good recipe for a malted loaf which I sometimes make in my breadmaker. Absolutely delicious eaten whilst hot!

Chelsea buns: my Mum used to make them occasionally. I haven't had them in years. I love Eccles cakes too ~ found them once in Ontario, but I've never seen them here in Nova Scotia.

Have a great week.

Marie xCandytuft Cornerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13522342667927356588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3677036653941667811.post-14924962720892067322013-03-10T18:10:30.488-03:002013-03-10T18:10:30.488-03:00Hello!
I'm sorry to hear about you not being ...Hello!

I'm sorry to hear about you not being well - I can sympathise; it's been like bacterium and viral soup around here and it seems to be taking a long time to shift (not helped by the horrid weather). Fingers crossed the rest of March will be kinder to you and bring some better health (and some sunshine!)

Speaking of comfort food, I don't know what I'd do in a foreign land whose idea of comfort food differed so much from my own. I suppose America and Canada don't have hot-crossed buns or any of our usual tea-loaves (Soreen! Delish and very good for you!).

Your teacakes look delicious too, so well done you! I haven't ever made teacakes; I seem to remember my limit was Chelsea buns and rock cakes. I have been meaning to make Eccles cakes for my mother, for quite some time, which should be easy given their very few ingredients (sugar, butter, currants!). That'll be my next kitchen foray :)

Anyway, have a lovely week and hope things get better for you soon.

Tash from vintagepretty.orgVintagePrettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17417348122069803064noreply@blogger.com
